In this extended tour, make history by running the first ever October edition of the Pyongyang Marathon and see everything from the grand monuments of Pyongyang to the beautiful countryside of Mt. Myohyang to the rugged mountains, pristine beaches and port life of the east coast. You’ll get a glimpse of the ancient history of Korea to the present day division in one fascinating trip through the city of Kaesong to the DMZ. In Pyongyang, you’ll ride the Pyongyang metro, visit the War Museum and the USS Pueblo, catch a performance of the Pyongyang Circus, visit Pyongyang’s major square and study centres such as the Grand People’s House, and visit Pyongyang’s newly unveiled streets and Sci-Tech centre before getting a view you’ll never forget from the Juche Tower. Visit Mt. Myohyang for the International Friendship Exhibition and some hiking before ending the trip with a journey all the way east to the city of Wonsan for a dose of local life and fresh seafood on the pier. This will be one varied, life-changing week.

Almost anyone can run in the amateur marathon, half marathon, or 10K alongside professional runners. Americans and other nationalities can apply! There are no official qualifying times for the amateur marathon. However, you must either FINISH or STOP within 4 hours and 30 minutes for all lengths.

All participants will receive an exclusive Pyongyang Marathon medal, Pyongyang Marathon branded t-shirt, timing chips, and other exclusive goodies.
